Requirements Testing: Are requirements documented in a way that enables development teams to build a product that meets the business’ needs and can the test team use them to prove the quality of the product?
Systems Testing and Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT): Does the system meet the documented or implied functional, business and regulatory requirements?
Systems Integration Testing (SIT): Do the system components work when put together and does data flow correctly? Do the interfaces to other systems function as expected?
Performance Testing: Does the system meet the non-functional requirements for response time and throughput particularly when under peak load? This includes performance, load, scalability & stress testing.
Recovery and Availability Testing: Is the system resilient to component failure and does it recover and remain available to users. Is data lost or duplicated if the system fails?
Security and Penetration Testing: Is the system and its components secure from malicious attack and hacking? Is data secure when being stored and transmitted and are processes in place to control access?
Disaster Recovery Testing: Can the system recover in the event of a total failure or disaster? This can be executed at a system level or we can manage and coordinate DR tests across the whole organisation.
Regression Testing: Have changes, fixes or releases created errors in other parts of the system?
Automated Testing: Can testing be made more efficient through automation? Ideal for regression testing where manual effort is prohibitive, similar tasks are repeated many times, data checking and with agile methodologies.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Does the system meet the business needs of the users and is it ready to go live?
Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT): Does the system meet the operational requirements set by production owners and system managers. Can it be maintained effectively and does it run without adversely affecting other operational systems?
